This Privacy Notice explains how Runity IT ("Runity IT", "we", "us") collects and uses personal data when you visit FLStudio.Academy or use our online music production programs (the "Service"). Runity IT is the data controller for the personal data described here.
1. Personal Data We Collect
- Account data — your name, email address, login credentials, and profile details.
- Program data — your submitted projects, audio files, written notes, messages with your instructor, and progress within the program.
- Support data — messages you send us and any information you include in them.
- Usage & device data — pages you visit, links you click, browser and device information, approximate location derived from IP address, and similar telemetry used to run and improve the Service.
- Marketing data — quiz answers and preferences you provide when you sign up for content or evaluations.
Payment card details are collected directly by our reseller Stripe and are never stored by us.
2. Why We Use Your Data (Legal Basis)
- To provide the Service — creating your account, delivering lessons and feedback, hosting your files. (Contract)
- To handle payments and invoicing — via Stripe as Merchant of Record. (Contract / legal obligation)
- Security & fraud prevention — protecting accounts, logging access, blocking abuse. (Legitimate interest / legal obligation)
- Support — answering your questions. (Contract / legitimate interest)
- Product improvement & analytics — understanding how the Service is used. (Legitimate interest)
- Marketing communications — sending you emails about the program. (Consent, which you can withdraw at any time)
3. Who We Share Data With
- Service providers & subprocessors that help us run the Service — hosting, database, storage (including Bunny.net for video and file delivery), email delivery, and analytics tooling.
- Stripe, our Merchant of Record, for the sale of programs, subscription management, payment processing, tax compliance, and invoicing.
- Professional advisers such as accountants and lawyers where necessary.
- Authorities where required by law or to protect our rights.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. International Transfers
Some of our providers process data outside the EU/EEA and the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
5. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above. Account and program data is kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for support, tax, and legal reasons. Anonymous visitor analytics is automatically deleted after 90 days. When data is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymised.
6. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law (including the GDPR for users in the UK/EEA), you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. We aim to respond to requests within one month.

7. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and audit logging — to protect your personal data. No system is 100% secure, but we work to reduce risk continuously.
8. Cookies & Similar Technologies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences, and limited analytics to understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may break parts of the Service.
