How to Route Channels to the FL Studio Mixer
Learn the essential steps to route your instruments to the FL Studio Mixer. Keep your project organized for a better mixing workflow.
This tutorial shows you how to send your instruments and samples from the Channel Rack to the Mixer. Proper routing is the first step toward having total control over your song's volume and effects.
Follow these steps
Select the Channel
Open the Channel Rack (F6) and click on the instrument or sample you want to route. A small box with a number represents its current mixer track.
Use the Auto-Route Shortcut
Highlight the channel in the Channel Rack. Press 'Ctrl + L' on your keyboard to automatically assign it to the first empty Mixer track.
Manually Assign a Track
Alternatively, double-click the number box in the Channel Rack and scroll up or down. This manually sets the target Mixer track number.
Label Your Tracks
Go to the Mixer (F9), click the track name, and press 'F2'. Rename and color the track to match your instrument for easy identification.
Common mistakes
- Routing every single sound to the same Mixer track.
- Forgetting to rename tracks, leading to a confusing and disorganized session.
